Business Applications Launch Event

Business Applications Launch Event

Summary

The Business Applications Launch Event (BALE) is a virtual event covering each "room of the house" for Dynamics 365 and the Power Platform. As the design lead, I’m responsible for storytelling and building product flows highlighting capabilities in the current release wave. Each demo is based on a real customer. In the demo for Sales CRM, the user journeys are told through the lens of Sonepar, a global leader in B2B distribution of electrical products and solutions.

    • Increase registrations and attendance from previous year.

    • Improve viewer duration by incorporating attendee feedback into demo storytelling.

    • Iterate on project framework for realistic alignment with product teams.

    • Creative direction: led team syncs and initiated product team reviews.

    • Systems design: interaction design, component libraries and Copilot icon best practices.

    • User research: collaborated with Microsoft Research for attendee survey.

    • Building cross-functional relationships: increasing understanding of product roadmaps and fostering trust.

    • Impactful storytelling

    • Advocating for design thinking: securing early involvement in script development.

    • 62,000 virtual attendees, a 13% increase from prior events.

    • Viewer duration increased 34%

    • Stories are better aligned with user scenarios.

    • Final flows more closely reflected the latest product capabilities and component updates.

    • Attendees praised the simplified visualization of the Microsoft stack within Copilot.

I wanted to highlight how pivotal you have been in creating a feedback loop from our BALE event. This is something we have never had before, after 8 back-to-back BALE events, and it has been incredibly helpful in improving our processes and overall event experience.
